1. A method for performing an operation in the wellbore, comprising:
gripping a wellbore tubular at two points; urging the two points apart using a force applicator; at least partially separating the wellbore tubular into a first and a second section while reducing a compressive force acting on the wellbore tubular using the force applicator in the wellbore, wherein the wellbore tubular is at least partially separated at a location between the two points.
