The present invention provides a toner showing an excellent fixing property even in high-speed image formation and inhibiting contamination of the inside of an apparatus and thereby being capable of stably forming high-quality images not having unevenness of gloss over a long period of time. In the toner including toner particles containing a binder resin, an ester wax, and a coloring agent, the ester wax is prescribed by, in GC/MS analysis of components volatilized by heating the wax at 200° C. for 10 minutes, a relationship in the components having carbon atoms in specific ranges. |

1. A toner comprising toner particles, each of which contains a binder resin, an ester wax, and a coloring agent, wherein
in GC/MS analysis of components volatilized by heating the ester wax at 200° C. for 10 minutes, (1) a total amount (A) of components showing peaks that are detected on and after the detection time of the peak of hydrocarbon having 16 carbon atoms is 1000 ppm or less; (2) a total amount (B) of components showing peaks that are detected on and after the detection time of the peak of hydrocarbon having 30 carbon atoms is 200 ppm or less; (3) a total amount (C) of components showing peaks that are detected on and after the detection time of the peak of hydrocarbon having 16 carbon atoms and before the detection time of the peak of hydrocarbon having 24 carbon atoms is 300 ppm or less; (4) the total amount (B) and the total amount (C) satisfy a relationship expressed by (C)/(B)≧1.0; and (5) a total amount (E) of components showing peaks that are detected before the detection time of the peak of hydrocarbon having 16 carbon atoms is 500 ppm or less. |
