Disclosed is a thin film transistor liquid crystal display device, comprising: a lower substrate divided into a plurality of pixel areas; color filter layers arranged on the pixel areas each of which includes a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines arranged to be crossed to each other, a plurality of common lines arranged to be crossed with the data lines while being in parallel with the gate lines, a switching element arranged on a cross area of the gate lines and the data lines, and a pixel electrode and a common electrode alternatively arranged on the pixel area; color filter patterns adjacent to the pixel areas arranged on areas of overlapping with the gate lines and the common lines; an upper substrate bonded to the lower substrate; a cell gap column spacer arranged to maintain a cell gap between the upper substrate and the lower substrate and a press column spacer to prevent a press; and a blocking layer formed on the color filter pattern corresponding to the cell gap column spacer. In the thin film transistor liquid crystal display device, space between the press column spacer and an array substrate can be secured although the cell gap column spacer and the press column spacer are formed to have the same thickness using a difference in color filter layers step. |
