1487276 Preventing unauthorized use ASEA AB 10 Feb 1975 [11 Feb 1974] 5542/75 Heading F1B A vehicle ignition system includes two electrical switches 11, 12 operated by a key 10, which when turned closes switch 11 which connects the positive battery terminal to coil 13 and through the coil to contact breaker 18, the ignition circuit remaining inoperative since the contact breaker is shunted by the normally closed switch 22. Key 10 also momentarily operates switch 12 which energizes signal generator 15 to produce a series of pulses which are detected by device 17 which in turn provides an output signal to energize relay 21. Movement of the relay closes holding contacts 24, closes contacts 23 to earth the contact breaker and opens contacts 22 to remove the shunt across the contact breaker. The system can therefore be energized only by using the correct key or corresponding member e.g. a card. |
