The present invention relates to an operating method for a memory system. The method comprises steps of: storing data received from an external device in a buffer memory; programming the data stored in the buffer memory to a first area of a non-volatile memory when in a data guarantee mode or programming the data stored in the buffer memory to a second area of the non-volatile memory when not in the data guarantee mode; programming the data stored in the buffer memory to the second area of the non-volatile memory; and programming the programmed data in the first area to the second area during idle time.
