摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production method which uses a water vapor reforming process and is very rational.SOLUTION: A hydrogen production method based on producing hydrogen by using a water vapor reforming process comprises reacting a carbon-containing substance with wet water vapor by causing potassium carbonate to function as a catalyst, also causing the potassium carbonate to function as a carbon dioxide absorber for carbon dioxide produced by the reaction, forming carbon dioxide gas and aqueous solution of potassium carbonate from the aqueous solution of potassium hydrogen carbonate produced through absorption of carbon dioxide by the aqueous solution of potassium carbonate, adding water in an amount equal to the amount consumed by the reaction to the obtained aqueous solution of potassium carbonate, heating the aqueous solution of potassium carbonate while the dryness is controlled in a specified range to obtain wet water vapor containing potassium carbonate and charging the wet water vapor to a reactor, and charging a vaporized carbon-containing substance to the reactor to cause the potassium carbonate to function again as the catalyst and the carbon dioxide absorber so as to circulate potassium carbonate.
