<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle in which a brake wire required for a brake operation mechanism is omitted.SOLUTION: The electric vehicle determines whether the vehicle is in a travel state or in a stand-by state based on vehicle speed. When the vehicle is in the stand-by state, a drive motor M is locked during brake operation, and when in the travel state, reverse torque whose output value is determined according to a brake operation amount is outputted from the drive motor M.
