PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly and accurately adjust a circulation volume of a working medium in accordance with changes in pressure and temperature of steam supplied to an evaporator.SOLUTION: According to an operation method of the present invention, a binary power generator 1 comprising: an evaporator 2 that evaporates a working medium with steam used as a heat source; an expansion unit 3 that expands the gaseous working medium and that generates a rotational drive force; a condenser 4 that condenses the gaseous working fluid into a liquid; and a circulation pump 5 that circulates the working fluid from the condenser 4 toward the evaporator 2 calculates a steam inlet-side saturation temperature Tand a working fluid outlet-side saturation temperature Tand controls a circulation volume and a pressure of the working fluid by the circulation pump 5 so that a temperature difference &Dgr;T between the calculated saturation temperatures is equal to or greater than a threshold if controlling the circulation volume of the working fluid in the circulation pump 5.
