PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchange device and a heat pump water heater capable of improving versatility of components even if the number of heat exchange portions constituting a heat exchange differs depending on a type.SOLUTION: The present invention comprises: a heat exchanger; a casing accommodating therein the heat exchanger; and a member arranged inside of the casing by the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes a plurality of heat exchange portions each of which is constituted by heat transfer tubes and fins and that can be arranged in a superimposed manner in a thickness direction. If a thickness of each heat exchange portion is t, a distance between the casing and the member in a portion in which the casing is the closest to the member across the heat exchanger is D, and the maximum number of the heat exchange portions that can be arranged in a superimposed manner in the thickness direction is n, a relation of nt<D<(n+1)t is satisfied, and the number of the heat exchange portions constituting the heat exchanger can be selected from numbers equal to or smaller than n. |
