This invention relates to machines that encourage learning. Previously, children struggled with an inability to read well, or at all, due to uninspiring teaching methods. Embodiments of the present invention use a process (200) for displaying a live action or animated vignette of a passage in a story in response to a reader's correct pronunciation of the words in the story passage. This process engages the children and inspires them to learn to read.
