PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a transceiver to reduce power consumption and to be miniaturized.SOLUTION: A communication system includes: a transmitter that transmits a wave flux signal to a dielectric waveguide 6; and a receiver that receives the wave flux signal having propagated through the dielectric waveguide 6 to restore a data signal. The transmitter comprises: an impulse generator 1 for generating a short pulse signal synchronized with the rise or fall of an RZ data signal; a band-pass filter 2 for converting the short pulse signal into a wave flux signal by limiting the band; and a transmission antenna 3 for transmitting the wave flux signal to the dielectric waveguide 6. The receiver comprises: a reception antenna 4 for receiving the wave flux signal having propagated through the dielectric waveguide 6; and a detector 5 for converting the wave flux signal taken in by the reception antenna 4 into an RZ data signal or NRZ data signal by envelope detection.
