PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor and clock, having two coils and capable of performing exact rotation detection with a simple configuration, when a rotor is rotated at a predetermined stepping angle, by applying a driving pulse to the coils as necessary.SOLUTION: A stepping motor 100, having two coils 22a, 22b, includes control means 31 for stopping application of a driving pulse for a predetermined period after the driving pulse is applied and turning off a switching element 32f to set the second coil 22b under a high impedance state during an application stopping period for which application of the driving pulse is stopped. While the second coil 22b is under the high impedance state, a detection circuit 35 detects a counter-electromotive force generated at the first coil 22a. |
