PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique relating to a honeycomb filter capable of collecting a large amount of particulate matter (PM) and suppressing the breakage of a partition wall.SOLUTION: In a honeycomb filter provided with a plurality of honeycomb segments 1 having a partition wall dividing and forming a plurality of first cells 11 and a plurality of second cells 15, the opening area of the first cells 11 is smaller than or equal to that of the second cells 15. In the honeycomb segment 1, a difference value Bbetween a distance Abeing a distance from a side surface 21 to a partition wall 9 at the far side of the second cells in an outer peripheral region 25 and a distance Abeing a distance from the side surface 21 to the partition wall 9 of the first cells at a far side is smaller than a difference value Bbetween the same distance Aand the same distance Ain a center region 27. |
