PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fume removal method capable of efficiently removing fume adhering to a steel plate.SOLUTION: The fume removal method of the invention is configured to immerse a galvanized plating steel plate to which fume adheres to a solvent including a chelate agent having a carboxy-methyl group. In the fume removal method, the galvanized plating steel plate may has a weld zone. In the fume removal method, pH of the solvent can be adjusted to become a range in which chelate safety constant of the chelate agent becomes larger.
