PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool down fused materials falling down from a reactor vessel by dispersing the same over a large area.SOLUTION: Located below a reactor vessel 31 is a cavity 56 provided with a bottom to allow for storing cooling water W therein. A dispersion unit 64 is provided in pieces at a location which is directly below the reactor vessel 31 in the cooling water W of the cavity 56 and above the bottom of the cavity 56 to spread fused materials falling down from the reactor vessel 31 before falling toward the bottom of the cavity 56.
