PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate handling of external characters when creating an ID card and to reduce burdens on an ID card issuer and an ID card user.SOLUTION: An external character registration device comprises: a storage section 83 storing letter form data of external characters, names and the number of times of appearance; an extraction section 82 for extracting external character data from personal information read from an IC chip of an ID card; a determination section 84 in which, in the case where an external character corresponding to external character data extracted by the extraction section 82 is stored in the storage section 83, the number of times of appearance of the external character is updated and it is determined whether the number of times of appearance reaches a predetermined value; and a registration section 85 for assigning a non-used character code to an external character the number of times of appearance of which reaches the predetermined value, and registers the external character in a font file of another device together with the letter form data and the name. |
