PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon-containing particle for a negative electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolytic secondary batteries which enables the achievement of a higher capacity in comparison to graphite, and the formation of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery superior in cycle characteristics when being used as a negative electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolytic secondary batteries.SOLUTION: A silicon-containing particle is used as a negative electrode active material of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. The silicon-containing particle comprises: a silicon particle; and a cured thermosetting resin which covers at least a part of the surface of the silicon particle. The thermosetting resin has a thickness of 5-500 nm. The particle diameter of crystal of the silicon particle is 1-300 nm. |
