PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest a printer having a platen gap adjustment mechanism including a synchronous rotation mechanism in which the number of components is small and which does not require large installation space.SOLUTION: A platen gap adjustment mechanism 70 of a printer 1 adjusts a gap by moving a first and a second guide shafts 57 and 58 supporting a head carriage 59 in a gap adjustment direction with respect to a platen 25. A synchronous rotation mechanism, which rotationally drives the first and the second guide shafts 57 and 58 in a synchronous manner for gap adjustment, includes: a rotary shaft 101 orthogonal to the first and the second guide shafts 57 and 58; a first and a second driving side gears 104 and 105 provided coaxially at the rotary shaft 101; a first driven side gear 106 provided coaxially at the first guide shaft 57 and meshing with the first driving side gear 104; and a second driven side gear 107 provided coaxially at the second guide shaft 58 and meshing with the second driving side gear 105. |
