Ferrite particles having Mn ferrite as a main phase and containing Sr ferrite, the ferrite particles being characterized in that the rugosity of the particle surface is in a range of 2.5 μm to 4.5 μm, and the standard deviation of the size of grains appearing on the particle surface is in a range of 1.5 μm to 3.5 μm. The coating resin thereby remains on the particle surface even with long-term use, and a decrease in the charging characteristics can be suppressed.
