PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear preload structure including a less number of component parts and capable of solving a problem of metal contact sound and provide an electric power steering device including the gear preload structure.SOLUTION: A gear preload structure 1 comprises a worm 3, a worm wheel 4 engaged with the worm 3, a first bearing 5 for pivotally supporting a shaft part 3a at one end of the worm 3, a second bearing 6 for pivotally supporting a shaft part 3b at the other end of the worm 3, biasing means 31 for biasing the worm 3 against the worm wheel 4, and a housing 2 for supporting the first bearing 5. The biasing means 31 is constituted of an elastic supporting member 7 of rubber material for resiliently supporting the first bearing 5 against the housing 2 and making ununiformity distribution in a peripheral direction of an elastic restoration force in a radial direction passing through an axial center of the first bearing 5 when it is assembled into the housing 2. |
