PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress such an event that an engine has to be started at a low vehicle speed while a vehicle is traveling with the running of the engine ceased.SOLUTION: If a battery temperature Tb of a battery is higher than a threshold Tbref or a charging ratio SOC of the battery falls below a threshold Sref (S120 and S130), an input limit Win of the battery is set to a starting input limit Wins (S140). If the battery temperature Tb of the battery is equal to or smaller than the threshold Tbref and the charging ratio SOC of the battery is equal to or larger than the threshold Sref (S120 and S130), the starting input limit Wins is set to a value (whose absolute value is larger) smaller by a predetermined value α than the input limit Win of the battery (S150). When a start-time charging power Psch falls below the starting input limit Wins during traveling in a motor driving mode (the absolute value gets larger), an engine is started. |
