A tenter oven comprising a blower section for blowing air heated to a specified temperature, a suction section for drawing and collecting air inside the tenter oven, clips that are disposed so as to extend in the film width direction and are for grasping the two edges in the film width direction, and clip rails that are the traveling paths for the clips, and comprising one or multiple zones in the film conveyance direction, the zones being configured from one or multiple chambers. The tenter oven has shielding plates in planes, which are roughly perpendicular to the film surface and roughly parallel to the clip rails, at a position between one end of the blower section in the film width direction and the clip grasping portion closest thereto, and a position between the other end of the blower section in the film width direction and the clip grasping portion closest thereto. Moreover, when the tenter oven comprises an air-circulating mechanism for re-heating the air drawn and collected by the suction section to the specified temperature and delivering same to the blower section, the pathway from the suction section in which the drawn and collected air is heated to the specified temperature has an air exhaust mechanism for exhausting air to the outside of the tenter oven and an air supply mechanism for taking in air from outside the tenter oven. The tenter oven is able to reduce temperature variations in the film width direction, making it possible to manufacture a thermoplastic resin film having uniform properties and thickness in the film width direction, and is able to reduce the energy consumption necessary for raising the temperature of the film and reduce film defects due to deposits of oligomers, etc. |
