PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment system for providing a sufficient acidic gas removal characteristic, without increasing a use amount of hydrated lime, even if the temperature for reacting with acidic gas is enhanced.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas treatment system 1a of the present invention comprises hydrated lime adding means 21 for adding the hydrated lime to exhaust gas of 190°C or more including the acidic gas, and comprises a reaction part 20 for reacting the hydrated lime and the acidic gas and a removal part 30 having a bag filter for removing a reaction product provided by the reaction part 20 from the exhaust gas, in which the hydrated lime is 25 m/g or more in the specific surface area measured by a BET method, and is 0.15 cm/g or more in the pore volume measured by a nitrogen desorption BJH method. In the exhaust gas treatment system 1a of the present invention, an exhaust gas purification catalyst is preferably carried by the bag filter.
