<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size radiation detection device at low cost.SOLUTION: The radiation detection device has a first detection part 1 and a second detection part 2. The first detection part 1 has one or more semiconductor chips each of which has a first radiation incident area in which plural first photoelectric conversion elements are arranged in a matrix to detect a position where a first interaction is made by an incident radiation and a locus of recoil electrons generated by the first interaction with the first photoelectric conversion element. The second detection part 2 provided between a base plate and the first detection part 1, which has a second radiation incident area where scattered radiation caused by the first interaction enters, to detect a position where a second interaction is generated by the scattered radiation. The position of a radiation source in a space as a measuring target is calculated by using generation positions of the first and second interactions and the locus of the recoil electrons.</p> |
