An elongate connection assembly is used to connect panels post or screens to a channel in a rail. A screen assembly 17 being an extruded frame 18, a spacer 19, a screen 20 has a removable retainer strip 21. A wedge strip 22 which fits over and straddles the edge 23 of the screen 20. The frame 18 has a hollow 24 which on the inside has a channel 25 and in this case it has two pairs of locating grooves 26, 27, 28 and 29, a pair in each of side walls 30 and 31 respectively. A spacer strip 19 which has locating ribs 32, 33, 34 and 35 matched to the grooves as shown. The spacer strip 19 has a slot 36 and a slot 37 with a narrow neck 38. The strip 19 would be slid into channel 25. The strip 19 may be PVC and may be co-extruded in varying hardness or may be quite hard. The wedge strip 22 has a co-extruded interior softened surfaces 39 and 40 to aid grip on the screen. The wedge strip and screen is slid into the strip 19 and the frame assembled before the retainer strip 21 is tapped into the final assembly to the position. 21f20 Fc,.2 |
