A control method for mobile information terminals having a third display in an information management system that manages information indicating the state of a second target device. In the control method: a display screen displaying a building plan is displayed on the third display for a mobile information terminal computer; device icons indicating each of a plurality of target devices including first and second target devices are displayed on the display screen displaying the plan; the device icons can be moved by being dragged to a position corresponding to the device icon; and when the dropping of a device icon indicating the second target device on to a device icon indicating the first target device is detected, a first control command is output to the information management system, said first control command being for causing a confirmation screen for confirming the confirmation of the second target device state to be displayed on the first display for the first target device.
