[Problem] To minimize decreases in an opportunity to actuate a Rankine cycle and make efficient operation of the Rankine cycle possible in an exhaust heat recovery device that is provided with the Rankine cycle. [Solution] An exhaust heat recovery device (1) that recovers and uses the exhaust heat of an engine (10) and that comprises: a Rankine cycle (2) that is provided with a heater (22), an expander (23), a condenser (24), and a pump (25); a bypass flow path (26) that causes a refrigerant to bypass the expander (23) and circulate; a bypass valve (27) that opens and closes the bypass flow path (26); and a control unit (4). The control unit (4) actuates the pump (25) in a state in which the bypass valve (27) is open and subsequently executes start-up control of the Rankine cycle (2) to close the bypass valve (27). In addition, the control unit (4) repeatedly performs the start-up control when the pressure difference between the high-pressure side and the low-pressure side of the Rankine cycle (2) after the bypass valve (27) is closed does not reach a start-up completion determination value within a predetermined length of time. |
