PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defoamant composition that instantly exerts excellent defoaming effect even under strongly basic conditions by containing higher fatty acid residues commented to be easy to solidify, among other things, capric acid and/or lauric acid, and also has favorable fluidity even under low temperatures in midwinter, preferably the defoamant composition for a sugar manufacturing process.SOLUTION: There is provided a defoamant composition that contains capric acid and/or lauric acid of 20 mass% or more based on the whole fatty acid and has a weight ratio of 100:0 to 0:100. |
