<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid retaining material which is excellent in liquid retaining property, gas permeability, mildew resistance, shape retaining property, properties of removing and cleaning deposited solid content, and which has high contact efficiency between retained liquid and passing gas and is useful as an evaporation filter of a humidifying apparatus.SOLUTION: The liquid retaining material is composed of a stereoscopic knitted fabric having a layer structure of knitted fabric A layer/connecting thread layer/(knitted fabric B layer constituted by connecting the knitted fabric A and the knitted fabric B parallel spaced with connecting threads composed of filament yarns. At least one fabric of the knitted fabric A and the knitted fabric B has a striped structure in which a plurality of knitted striate bodies are arranged on the same surface in parallel with one another. The knitted fabric A and the knitted fabric B are connected by connecting threads along a length direction of knitted striate bodies at the parts of the knitted striate bodies. The number of the connecting filaments in a connecting thread layer is 50-20,000 per 1 cmof the stereoscopic knitted fabric.</p> |
