A liquid crystal display panel, comprising: a liquid crystal display unit (10), which comprises a light-in side and a light-out side; a first polarizer (41), which is arranged on the light-in side of the liquid crystal display unit(10); a second polarizer (42), which is arranged on the light-out side of the liquid crystal display unit (10); and a half-wave plate (20), which is arranged between the first polarizer (41) and the liquid crystal display unit (10), wherein an absorption axis of the first polarizer (41) is parallel to the absorption axis of the second polarizer (42), and an included angle between a slow axis of the half-wave plate (20) and the absorption axis of the first polarizer (41) is 45° or 135°. Also disclosed is a liquid crystal display (1). The liquid crystal display panel can also achieve a normally black mode in the case that the two polarizers (41, 42) are attached in parallel and a voltage is not applied thereon, and the contrast thereof can be effectively improved. |
