<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery having a high capacity and superior cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery is manufactured in a method having a process for manufacturing the secondary battery by sealing an outer package after vacuuming it, in a state with an electrode element and nonaqueous electrolyte solution incorporated into the outer package, a process for making the secondary battery in a charged state; a process for aging the secondary battery; a process for opening the outer package and removing gas existing inside the outer package; and a process for sealing the opening of the outer package after vacuuming, in this order. The cathode of the secondary battery contains a compound expressed by formula (I) xLi<SB>2</SB>MnO<SB>3</SB>-(1-x)LiMeO<SB>2</SB>as a cathode active material. In the formula (I), x satisfies the relation: 0.1<x<0.8, Me is one or more elements selected from a group consisting of Mn, Ni, Co, Fe, Ti, Al and Mg, and Mn is necessarily included. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
