PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile liquid outage sensor that accurately detects liquid outage, over a long time in a liquid supply path for intermittently flowing a liquid, and to provide a liquid supply apparatus that uses the sensor. SOLUTION: The liquid supply apparatus includes an optically-transparent pipe 2, having a liquid passage formed with an inner hollow section 11 for causing both connections 9, 10 connected to upstream piping 25 and downstream piping 26 of the liquid supply path that communicate with each other; and a plurality of photosensors 3, 4 attached at a regular interval in the axial direction of the pipe 2. The photosensors 3, 4 are configured so as to simultaneously and periodically detect the existence of the liquid passing through the hollow section 11 within the pipe 2, and is controlled so as to output or deactivate a warning signal for informing a user of the liquid outage by a combination pattern of detection signals from the photosensors 3, 4.
