A COMPOSITION COMPRISING AMOMUM CARDAMOMUM L. EXTRACTS HAVING ANTI-OBESITY ACTIVITY

The present invention relates to an anti-obesity composition comprising an Amomum cardamomum Linne extract and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of obesity comprising an Amomum cardamomum Linne extract as an active ingredient; and to health functional food for the prevention or alleviation of obesity comprising an Amomum cardamomum Linne extract as an active ingredient. A composition comprising an Amomum cardamomum Linne extract in the present invention has an inhibitory ability against the differentiation of adipose precursor cells into adipocytes and thus can be practically used as an anti-obesity composition. Particularly, the composition inhibits the generation of adipocytes and thus can be used as a pharmaceutical composition or health functional food for the prevention or treatment of diseases caused by the accumulation of unnecessary fat such as fatty liver or lipid-related cardiovascular disorders. In addition, it has been verified that the composition shows a synergy effect by being mixed with a Siegesbeckia pubescens Makino extract which has anti-obesity activity. Therefore, the composition can be used in a form of a mixture with the Siegesbeckia pubescens Makino extract.
