PURPOSE: A species-specific primer for diagnosing bacterial disease in Brassicaceae, caused by Xanthomonas campestris, is provided to save costs and labor for diagnosis, to resolve problems generated from an agricultural field, and to improve breeding of high quality of Brassicaceae crops. CONSTITUTION: A primer set for detecting Xanthomonas campestris contains base sequences of sequence numbers 1 and 2. A method for diagnosing bacterial diseases in Brassicaceae, caused by Xanthomonas campestris, comprises: a step of isolating bacterial DNA from a sample; a step of performing PCR using the primer set and the DNA; and a step of separating the PCR product by size. A kit for detecting Xanthomonas campestris contains the primer set. |
