COMPOSITION FOR IMPROVING OBESITY AND FATTY LIVER USING AN EXTRACT OF LEAVES OF SASA QUELPAERTENSIS OR P-COUMARIC ACID

Disclosed is an obesity and fatty liver alleviating composition using a Sasa quelpaertensis extract. The Sasa quelpaertensis extract inhibits an increase in weight and the accumulation of fat in an experimental animal, increases the expression level of adiponectin, and activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). Moreover, the Sasa quelpaertensis extract exhibits activities in reducing the content of glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (GPT), glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) which are indicator enzymes for liver damage.
