PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display system which can offer enhanced advertisement effect.SOLUTION: A display device can freely communicate with a portable terminal which holds its position information. The display device comprises: a short range communication unit for performing short range communication with the portable terminal; and a control unit for determining gift information on the basis of information acquired from the portable terminal via the short range communication unit. The control unit determines a content of the gift information on the basis of a distance between the display device and a main stay area of the portable terminal located by the position information of the portable terminal.
