PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage container which is the container to store wastes and the like enabling the emission of the volatile gas of the wastes and the like such as waste cloths and the like containing a VOC and which can be inexpensively produced and prevent the leakage of the volatile gas from the container with a comparatively simple mechanism.SOLUTION: A storage container (1) comprises: a storage container body (10); an intermediate chamber (11) located at the upper part of the body; a freely openable and closable lid (12) located at the upper part of the intermediate chamber; shielding films (13 and 14) respectively having valve function parts (13a and 14a) between the storage container body (10) and the intermediate chamber (11) and between the intermediate chamber (11) and the lid (12); and a suction unit (15) to suck an atmosphere in the intermediate chamber from the intermediate chamber (11). The suction unit (15) sucks the atmosphere interlocking with the opening and closing of the lid (12) when at least the lid (12) is opened or closed.
