PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter with enhanced conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: The power converter includes: a first conversion circuit 10 connected to one winding n1 of a transformer 40; and a second conversion circuit 20 connected to the other winding n2 of the transformer 40. The first conversion circuit 10 and the second conversion circuit 20 convert the power bidirectionally. The power converter further includes a third conversion circuit 30 prior to the first conversion circuit 10 when the power is transmitted from the first conversion circuit 10 to the second conversion circuit 20. The third conversion circuit 30 converts the power bidirectionally; and when the power is transmitted from the first conversion circuit 10 to the second conversion circuit 20, the third conversion circuit 30 functions as a boosting chopper circuit. |
