PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper processing device capable of smoothly processing various kinds of paper including a transparent packaging medium containing paper or the like in a transparent film package.SOLUTION: A paper processing device comprises: a storage part having an accumulation base, in which a plurality of paper and so on are piled in a stacked state, for stacking the papers sequentially in a surface direction; a push-in mechanism for pushing the papers conveyed, into a storage part; a backup disposed to confront the push-in mechanism and movably in a stacked direction of the paper so that it holds the paper between itself and the push-in mechanism and so that it moves in the direction apart from the push-in mechanism in accordance with the accumulation of the paper and so on; and a variable load spring mechanism for biasing the backup toward the push-in mechanism. The variable load spring mechanism applies a first spring force to the backup while the backup moves in the stacked direction by a first distance from the side of the push-in mechanism and applies a second spring force smaller than the first spring force to the backup while the backup further moves in the stacked direction by a second distance from the first distance. |
