The present invention relates to a method for scribing a reinforced glass substrate and an apparatus for scribing the same. Scribing line can be truely formed through inner cutting on the glass substrate which is made of reinforced glass with high machining difficulty. The method for scribing is performed according to the following steps: a stripping step of moving a scribing component 11 with a point-shaped tip part or a linear tip part downwards from the upper part of the substrate M and touching with the substrate for forming a scribing mark at a position which is provided at the inside part of the edge of the substrate M, thereby stripping a compressed stress layer at the surface of the substrate M and forming a triggering groove T1 in which the scribing mark is used as a scribing starting point; and a scribing step of forming a scribing line S through causing a cutter wheel 12 to abut against the triggering groove, jointing under pressure and rotating. |
