PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and easily separate a conductor and a covering material of a covered conductor with a lightweight and compact instrument and to prevent the number of separated covering materials from being increased.SOLUTION: A covering material separator comprises: a pair of pressure contact rollers 32a and 32b in which an end portion of a covered conductor is inserted therebetween and the covered conductor is sent out while being press-contacted in a radial direction; a plurality of protrusions provided circumferentially at predetermined intervals on an outer surface of one of the pair of pressure contact rollers 32a and 32b, and holding a conductor and a covering material and breaking it; and a rotary instrument mounting part 33 in which an electrically-driven rotary machine tool is mounted to rotate one of the pair of pressure contact rollers 32a and 32b. Thus, when the covered conductor is passed between the pair of pressure contact rollers 32a and 32b, a covering material is broken by being held between the conductor and the protrusions and in the covering material, a plurality of through holes are formed which are provided continuously in a length direction of a separating line which extends in a length direction of the covered conductor, or in the length direction of the covered conductor. |
