PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a POS system that can reduce an operation of a customer in a settlement process.SOLUTION: A POS system has: a registration device that registers a commercial article of a purchase object of a customer; and a plurality of settlement devices that performs a settlement on the basis of registration data on the commercial article. The registration device comprises: acquisition means for acquiring status information relating to the settlement process of the plurality of settlement devices; and selection means for selecting the settlement device to perform a settlement for the registered commercial article among the plurality of settlement devices. The selection means performs selection prohibition control so that the settlement device in the midst of a trouble based upon the status information cannot be selected as the settlement device to perform the settlement for the registered commercial article.
