This treatment tool performs treatment by the action of energy on biological tissue, and is provided with a first and second clamping member, a rotation member which is supported by the first clamping member and which can rotate about a rotation shaft in a first direction and a second direction opposite of the first direction, a limiter which limits rotation of the rotation member in the first direction or the second direction, a first holding surface which is provided on the side of the rotation member near the second clamping member and which holds the biological tissue, a second holding surface which is provided on the second clamping member and which holds the biological tissue working together with the first holding surface, and a protruding part which, in a state in which the first and the second holding surfaces are closed, forms a gap between the first and the second holding surface. |
