摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the delivery of a transseptal cannula for allowing a physician to maintain control over the transseptal cannula during surgery.SOLUTION: A transseptal cannula (22) comprises: a flexible cannula body (42); a left atrial anchor (38) coupled to the distal end of the flexible cannula body; and a right atrial anchor (88) operable to be attached to the left atrial anchor (38) in vivo. The left and right atrial anchors (38, 88) are implanted and deployed separately. Delivery of the transseptal cannula (22) to a heart tissue includes a low profile coaxial balloon catheter (28) comprising: a tube body (60) including an inner member (64) and an outer member (66) creating an inflation channel (68) between the inner and outer members; a hub (56) coupled to the proximal portion of the tube body (60) and including a fluid space (79) in fluid communication with the inflation channel; and a balloon (62) coupled to the distal portion of the tube body, the balloon being in fluid communication with the channel. The hub of catheter (28) is constructed with a low profile so that other surgical devices can be directed over the coaxial hub without deflating and removing the balloon.
