1. A method for transmitting a reference signal, by a user equipment, in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
generating a plurality of reference signal sequence by cyclically shifting a base sequence xu(n); mapping each of the plurality of reference signal sequence to a corresponding single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) symbol among a plurality of SC-FDMA symbols in a subframe to form the reference signal, the subframe including the plurality of SC-FDMA symbols in a time domain and two resource blocks in a frequency domain, the each resource block including 12 subcarriers; and transmitting the reference signal, wherein the base sequence xu(n) is expressed by
