<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve start-up performance when starting an engine using alcohol-containing fuel.SOLUTION: An engine 10 has an injector 21 for fuel injection in a cylinder and an ignition plug 34 which generates an ignition spark in a combustion chamber 23. An ECU 40 determines whether or not an execution condition including at least either an alcohol concentration in fuel supplied to the injector not less than a predetermined concentration or an engine water temperature not more than a predetermined temperature is met. When the execution condition is determined to be met, the ECU 40 also executes fuel injection during compression strokes of the engine 10 for a predetermined start-up period from the beginning of a start-up of the engine 10 and controls completion time of the fuel injection with reference to ignition timing of the ignition plug 34.</p> |
