PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine deterioration of a device on the basis of a result of inspection of an image, in an inspection of images in which an image obtained by reading an output result of formation and output of an image is compared with a master image.SOLUTION: An image inspection device comprises: a difference calculation unit 435 that determines defects in a read image on the basis of a difference between the read image and a master image; a defect group extraction unit 437 that determines the number of defects included in the read image on the basis of a result of the determination of the defects in the read image; and a frequency distribution processing unit 438 that totals the defect number per image that is the number of defects detected in the one read image for a plurality of read images to create a frequency distribution of the defect number per image, and determines abnormality of an image forming apparatus on the basis of a change in frequency distribution created in each predetermined period.
