A bed grab rail for attachment to a bed comprising a base 1 suitable for engaging an abutment on a bed, two parallel elongate arms 5 and 6 coupled telescopically to the base 1, a cross rail 8 interconnecting the arms part way along their length and suitable for engaging an abutment of a bed and an adjustable clamping mechanism 15 for drawing the cross-rail 8 and the base 1 towards one another. The base 1 and cross rail 8 may have opposed channels 17 and 19 to engage a bed surround. A frame may be an inverted U shape and the clamping mechanism 15 may employ a screw and thread, hydraulic or pneumatic arrangement. The frame may be tubular metal or plastic and the device is designed to provide a hand grip for a user moving in or out of bed. |
