<p>According to an embodiment of the present invention, a spindle motor includes a rotating body comprising a sleeve portion disposed between a thrust member and a flange portion of a shaft; a connecting portion extending from the sleeve portion; and a rotor hub portion extending from the connecting portion. A condition (0.5 mm < min{L1, L2} < {(H-0.3)-(h1+h2+h3)}/cosθ) is satisfied when a shortest distance between the thrust member and a junction portion of the shaft is defined as L1, a shortest distance between the thrust member and an installation portion of a base member is defined as L2, the thickness of a recording disk drive device is defined as H, a vertical distance from the top surface of the thrust member to the bottom surface of the thrust member is defined as h1, the thickness of the flange portion is defined as h2, an axial vertical distance from an upper surface of the flange portion to the junction portion is defined as h3, and an angle between an extension line extending from the outer peripheral surface of the thrust member and a connecting line having a smaller value of L1 and L2 is defined as theta, and the thickness of the connecting portion has the same value as the smaller value of L1 and L2.</p> |
