A method to recognize a three-dimensional object using a complementary feature point based descriptor includes the steps of: inputting a reference image frame of a reference object; generating a reference descriptor using feature point information including local shape information in the reference image frame and at least one among local texture information, color information, and change information; generating reference data of the reference object by teaching the reference descriptor; inputting a recognition image frame of a recognition object; generating a recognition descriptor using feature point information including local shape information in the recognition image frame and at least one among local texture information, color information, and change information; generating recognition data of the recognition object by teaching the recognition descriptor; and recognizing the recognition object as the reference object if similarity between the reference data and the recognition data is more than a predetermined threshold. |
